5th and 6th class recently visited Trinity College as part of the Trinity Access Programme. They had a tour of the college campus, spent some time in the zoology department, had lunch and had the opportunity to try out the sports facilities!
We have been super busy in Senior Infants.
We learned the poem, "I'm a frozen icicle".
We talked about The Arctic regions during Aistear. We read the stories, "Tom Crean's Rabbit" , "The Emperor's Egg" and "Owl Babies". We loved learning about penguins and what they eat.
We sequenced "The Children of Lir" story and we learned all about the number 8. We also weighed different things around the room.
We sang the song "Gotta build a house" and we used the wood block instrument with the song.
Finally, we made paper lanterns in Art and we painted penguins. We hope you like our pictures.
In February and March
We learned all about Homes and Fairies in Aistear.
We read the stories The Three Little Pigs, Michael Recycle and Johnny Appleseed.
We learned the poem "In the Mirror" off by heart.
In maths, we learned the story of 9 and 10. We talked about different lengths, widths and height. We cut out worms and compared their lengths. We had a great time playing with 3-D shapes with our parents during Numeracy Week.
In Art, we made Valentines Cards for our Mammys, Farm Houses with chickens, Mothers Day bouquets, Shamrock bowls and Easter egg collages.
We sequenced pictures of The Three Little Pigs and the life cycle of an apple. We learned about Mothers and Babies.
We really enjoyed our St. Patricks Day parade.
