We have been working so hard in our reading groups over the last few weeks. We play games with Ms Dunne to help us learn our words, We play letter and word games on the ipads and read a new book and a familiar book. We have also worked very hard on our cvc words and we are all brilliant at blending our words.
This week we are taking part in the NCI Numeracy week on 'Signs and Symbols in our environment'. We have taken a walk around the community and had a look at all the different signs. We came back to class and worked in our table groups at drawing all the signs we saw. We have also been reading some of the beautiful books that the NCI have given us. Our favourite one was , The Treasure Hunt so we drew our own picture clues for a treasure hunt and we hope to have one in our class very soon. The NCI have also given us some lovely resources so we are having a great time playing charades, and other games.
On Fridays, over the last few weeks, we have been so lucky in Junior Infants to have Ms Grehan in to help us out and today she read us a lovely story called Handas Surprise and brought in lots of different types of fruit that we could taste. We really liked the pineapple!
We are working on the theme of Garden Centre in Aistear. We are very busy taking orders and making lists in role play, making hand print butterflies in art, playing with the sand and water in messy play and look at the wonderful buildings we made in construction!
